How to become a member
To become a member of our collective visit us and bring your:
A.) original recommendation, CA medical marijuana ID card, or other valid medical marijuna ID (Medicann, etc.)
B.) your valid California Driver’s License.
Please note: As of March 2010 we are no longer pre-registering members online or over the phone – please visit our location to become a member of AAC.
Membership qualifications
AAC only provides services to registered members with current and verifiable letters of recommendation. We will not provide any services until our staff has verified that you have a valid doctor’s recommendation in accordance with Proposition 215 (HS 11362.5), also known as the “Compassionate Use Act of 1996”.
1.) You must submit the original and unexpired letter of recommendation from a California physician,a CA medical marijuana ID card, or other valid medical marijuna ID (Medicann, etc.). We will make a copy of your letter or ID and return the originals to you.
2.) You must present a valid and unexpired California state ID card or California state driver’s license.
3.) You must fill out and sign an intake form.
4.) Your membership is valid until your letter of recommendation expires, or for one (1) year if there is no expiration date on your letter.
5.) Membership is “at will” and may be terminated by you or the AAC at any time.
6.) Membership limited to those ages 18 and over.
Facility Guidelines
These guidelines are designed to facilitate a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. It is very important that we follow these guidelines so that we can continue to operate for years to come. Membership can be revoked for violation of any of these guidelines.
AGE: You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and have state issued ID to enter the building. Parents or court appointed legal guardians must act as caregivers to obtain services on behalf of legally qualified patients who are younger than eighteen years old.
ID: You must show your medical cannabis recommendation or state issued medical cannabis ID card to the security guard and the receptionist when you enter the facility.
RESALE: You may never sell or otherwise distribute the medication you obtain at the AAC. It is illegal and you will be permanently excluded from membership if you do so.
RESPECT: You should treat everyone in the building with respect. You will be asked to leave if you use offensive or abusive language or behavior.
CELL PHONES: No cell phones in the dispensing area. You may not smoke at the AAC. Never consume cannabis in the neighborhood or car.
TRANSPORT: For your safety, place all medication and plants out of sight before leaving the building.
FORBIDDEN: Absolutely no alcohol, hard drugs, or weapons are allowed in the building.
VIOLENCE: Any member who commits or threatens an act of violence will be excluded from membership and may be subject to criminal prosecution.
GOOD NEIGHBORS: Be friendly to our neighbors! And, please, do not litter. (click here for more information)
PARKING: Only park in legal parking spaces. Do not block driveways. You will be ticketed by the City of Signal Hill.
EMERGENCIES: In the event of an emergency, please follow the instructions of the staff.
